Injuries!

This month was certainly not one of good luck. I broke my thumb resulting in surgery, my sister had surgery a week later due to a shoulder injury, and my mother had surgery after an ER visit as well.

Above, you can see one of the x-rays my mom took showing the broken bone in the lower joint of my left thumb. This happened in a tragic incident involving an amazing 100'-long slip 'n slide, where I got a little too excited and stuck my thumb through the material, causing it to get caught and hyper-extending towards my chest.

As of writing, I've now gone through a couple weeks of physical therapy and determined the nerve damage in my thumb should repair over the next several months. Until then - the top half of my thumb will be completely numb.

This has impacted my job, I can barely lift anything, and just in general it's very frustrating to me that I can't do things normally.

My family has gone through a lot this month, but thankfully we're all safe and sound at this point.
